(NASDAQ: NXTL) announced it has teamed with Prophesy Transportation Solutions, Inc. to deliver new, low-cost wireless dispatch solutions to the long-haul trucking market. The agreement underscores Nextel’s commitment to, and leadership in, providing wireless business solutions that enable transportation and logistics firms to synchronize and speed deliveries, increase productivity and accuracy, and reduce operational costs.

The two companies will bring to market new GPS-enabled mobile resource management solutions based on Prophesy’s top-selling Prophesy DispatchSeries™ software. Delivered over Nextel’s digital nationwide wireless network on Nextel handsets, these wireless data solutions enable drivers and dispatchers to share and update itinerary, load and job status information paper free, while providing real-time shipment tracking and route mapping, all at breakthrough price points.
