Prophesy Releases ShipperMail 2.1
(Bloomfield, CT -- October 15, 2002)
Prophesy Transportation Solutions, Inc. recently announced the release of ShipperMailTM version 2.1 during the
PostCom Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. ShipperMail 2.1 is a comprehensive transportation management system
designed to facilitate the movement of bulk mail and small parcels from point of origin to all U.S. Postal Facilities
and including BMCs, SCFs, ASFs and DDUs. Built upon the company's ShipperPlusTM software, and developed with input
from key mail distribution companies, ShipperMail allows users to build loads quickly and flexibly, and route them
as far into the postal system as possible to maximize savings.
"ShipperMail has found tremendous success within the postal industry since its April launch," said Prophesy
President Edward J. Forman. "The advent of version 2.1 has come from the valuable input we have received from our
customers. We are proud to offer a strong product that is firmly rooted in the real world needs of this industry."
New features include:
- Enhanced rating structure, designed to allow piece rating for customer charges and user-defined piece weight breaks.
- The ability to input and calculate postal discount savings as well as reporting which displays postal savings versus
trucking costs for drop shipping at postal facilities.
- The ability to manipulate all data relating to a specific print job. Useful in situations where a job is delayed or
cancelled, as it becomes necessary to manipulate just the pallets contained in the job. This capability makes it possible
to dynamically purge or de-allocate the affected pallets - either for the entire job, or single pallets within the job
one at a time.
ShipperMail produces dramatic savings by allowing users to leverage real time opportunities for shipment consolidation
into efficient truckloads, utilizing dynamic pooling for LTL, and optimized carrier analysis and selection to maximize
profitability.
ShipperMail outperforms manual load planning to such an extent that it will routinely save users between 10 and 20
percent on total transportation costs without sacrificing service requirements. The product also builds all loads in
minutes thus allowing users to make last minute adjustments and changes at any time.
ShipperMail also offers such features as advanced carrier selection, dynamic pool points, route building, and detailed
cost analysis, all of which are critical in tuning the distribution patterns and in bidding on new jobs.
